One of our proudest achievements is the web pilot MASH-UP, a project where I took on the roles of writer, director, and producer. This endeavor exemplifies our commitment to bringing unique narratives to life and navigating the complexities of independent filmmaking.
The journey of MASH-UP: From Concept to Screen
The origin of MASH-UP began with an immersive dive into the worldbuilding of the reality TV and influencer culture ecosystem. The series explores the fame economy, a topic we passionately believed needed a fresh, indie perspective.
Our finance plan involved securing a blend of grants and private investments to ensure the project's viability. We attached key cast members who shared our vision.
Overcoming production hurdles and distribution innovation
During the shoot of MASH-UP, we navigated various physical, logistical, and budgetary hurdles with creative problem-solving. For example, we had to have our transportation coordinator double as a UPN to supplement the crew position when the original UPN had to leave the production. Both were great in fulfilling their duties!
Beyond production, CINESCREEN STUDIOS LLC designed a comprehensive marketing plan for TVOD, SVOD, and AVOD distribution channels. We also strategically positioned MASH-UP as a transmedia property, developing a companion podcast, an e-book, and puzzles that extend the core story, showcasing our innovative approach to audience engagement.
